20111216/Day 33 - The Lord took Stan home today. The illnesses continued to plague his already weakened and broken body to the point there was no coming back. If Stan couldn’t come all the way back, he wasn’t going to stay. You can’t keep a man as vibrant and alive as Stan Braxton in a body that won’t allow him to be… Him.
He was surrounded by those who love him most, he passed with dignity and peace.
… and so we have to continue on without him. A world without that incredible humor, that forever friendship, that infecting smile, someone you could call anytime - no matter what, someone who could make a moment in time an event that you will never forget as long as you live, someone who brings a smile to your face each and every time you think about him. He was as outrageous as he was kind and as notorious as he was generous. As a husband and a father he was the most present and involved man I’ve ever known. Anyone who has met his children can tell you what kind of a father he was and I loved my husband with all my heart. He gave us all something to remember him by… and that we will do.
For Savannah and I to be there for Stan for over a month would have been a financial strain had it not been for your generous donations. Thank you all so much for your support, your friendship, your prayers and your concern. Coke Braxton
